I read Roger Ebert’s tweets as well as a few comedians. Most of the people who are tweeting these kind of messages aren’t trying to be cruel or disrespectful — they’re highlighting the fact that, no matter how tragic, Dunn was (assumed to be) drunk and driving. I wish there was more emphasis on the fact that it’s not clear if Dunn was drunk or not at the time, as everyone is leaping to either attack or defend him. Either way, it’s a tragic event that shouldn’t have happened.
